EDIT*** Here are my photos of the recipe that I tried! It turned out delicious. Nice and filing.***
I used half of this bag of rice.
I had my skillet turned up on high and had the oil heating up before I poured the rice in. I let it sizzle for a few minutes and then followed the directions (see link below) from there.
Put your sizzled rice in the bottom of a crockpot and add the boneless, skinless, chicken breast strips.
Take your dry ingredients and mix them all up in a bowl.
Now that you’ve got all that done, you can take the 2 cans of cream of chicken and dump them into a bowl. Add the water. Then add your dry ingredients to that and mix together.
Pour the combined ingredients over the rice and chicken in the crock pot. Let it cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 4 hours. (That is what the recipe said but even on high I had to let mine go longer due to the rice not being thoroughly done.) I would just say put the timer on for 4 hours and check it periodically after.
There it is. It was yummy once I finally for the rice done. I think next time I will NOT use the raw rice (it was cheaper so that is why I used it) but will just have it cooked up already and then mix in the dry ingredients and add to the chicken. I know it really won’t be crock pot worthy but it would be still be good quick meal.
**end of edit**
I know, I have not posted lately and here comes another semi-random one but I really was scouring the web for a hearty crockpot meal since we are fixing to head out the door to get groceries. It has been nasty weather here: snow, ice, melt, repeat. Yuck. I was deeply yearning for a hot and filling something that my kids AND husband could all enjoy. So here is my find from a nifty little website:
Sorry, no pics. How boring of me.
But I will say, the ones she provides are just fine. Check out the link!
Have a blessed day folks.
