Love Actually Happens // Spiritual Knitting

(Sigh) I’ve been “almost” done with this post for, well, all day.  I got up at 5 something, because that is my go-to hour if I want quiet-before-the-sun-and-kids-wake-up-time.

Sometimes, God gives me great revelation in the scriptures, and I can spit words out onto my WordPress account faster then you can repeat what I just said.

But other times, the ones like today, are interrupted sooner than calculated, and there are gaps of time in between my paragraphs, throwing off my “inspired-flow.”

I’m not the only mom that goes through this right?

The times when you are like AHA.  That is awesome God!  Then a little face emerges into the light, one who needs you.  And you are beckoned away from your words, that will be just fine – will be there when you return, but you just find yourself having to pray through fleshy, annoyed feelings that will soon pass, but you still fight it off nonetheless.

And you briskly walk back to your word doings, only to realize you lost your thought, so you sit there for a bit, pondering//praying.  Time passes, it comes back – you start to type, there is a sound coming from the down the hall that needs your attention.

Oh well. It is one of those days. Okay.  You submit. It’s “let’s love hands on today” and not just say it or think it or type it.  It’s – let’s live it.

And it should be this way everyday.  I am being honest. Real honest with y’all here.

It is real easy to love when you have hours to yourself with God before dealing with any emotions from kids, so when that time is interrupted that is when this mama’s character is tested the most {as far as daily testings are concerned}.

So it is kinda funny to me that as I type this intro, into what I actually had ready to post {by the end of the afternoon now…}, that I get to the photo I took, prayed about and edited and it is about L O V E.

God knew what He was doing all along.  He doesn’t want me to just read the words of love on the pages of the Bible, He wants me to experience love like He did.  No, I do not have sufferings like Jesus did on the cross, but TODAY I was able to parallel some things with my own life, and I think that is what He wants of us, otherwise – as Joyce Meyer says – once we give our lives to Him we’d just be beamed right up outta’ here.  But no, we are left here to love, to give, as we keep receiving more from Him each day {we have to or we will shrivel up on the journey!}

I saw how Jesus wouldn’t have got angry with being interrupted. He was probably tired many times from it, but the Word says He had compassion on those that came to Him.

It may take me my whole lifetime to be perfected – and that is okay, because that is what God says He’s doing in you and I.  His love is being perfected in us, and as long as the Holy Spirit is working in us – showing us how awesome the Word is and how it can be applied to our daily lives, we will KEEP growing and getting to know got more and more until Jesus returns. {See Col. 1:9-10}

I do not like writing just because – it has always been hard for me to agree with those who say “write even if you don’t feel like it,” because I always feel like I want to have a reason, -it not be in vain, when it comes to something I am sharing.  A personal journal is different, but when sharing, I can’t hardly find it in myself to just “make up something” to blog about, it needs to be real experience, or  at least from the deep wells within.

Well, TODAY proved how waiting on the Lord {not me wanting to but the kids above causing me to HAVE to wait..} really does wonders.  Being able to pour out the lesson I learned TODAY, meant so much more to me.  The scriptures below are His living Words but putting them into practice, or lack of and learning from it – is just priceless.

Now for my original, much shorter post….on Love.

We hear a lot of bad news these days.

Why not read about some Good News?

The BEST news you’ll ever read about!

~ Sometimes we all just need a good, simple reminder; a love note from God. ~

In Colossians 1 it says…

19 “for God wanted all of himself to be in his Son.

20 It was through what his Son did that God cleared a path for everything to come to him—all things in heaven and on earth—for Christ’s death on the cross has made peace with God for all by his blood. 21 This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies and hated him and were separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends. 22 He has done this through the death on the cross of his own human body, and now as a result Christ has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are standing there before him with nothing left against you—nothing left that he could even chide you for; 23 the only condition is that you fully believe the Truth, standing in it steadfast and firm, strong in the Lord, convinced of the Good News that Jesus died for you, and never shifting from trusting him to save you. This is the wonderful news that came to each of you and is now spreading all over the world. And I, Paul, have the joy of telling it to others.” TLB

Colossians 2:3-4

“In him lie hidden all the mighty, untapped treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I am saying this because I am afraid that someone may fool you with smooth talk.  For though I am far away from you my heart is with you, happy because you are getting along so well, happy because of your strong faith in Christ.”

Colossians 2:6

“And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him too for each day’s problem’s; live in vital union with him.”

Do you know what I get from this?

TODAY – There is Good News

TODAY – Christ has brought us into the presence of God

TODAY – We can be happy because we have faith in Him

TODAY – He is BIG enough for TODAY’S problems

And if you do not know my Lord and Savior personally, or have turned away and know you are not right with Him, or didn’t even mean to find this page on the web, but are now pondering these words, know that He {still} invites you into a relationship with Him. He stands arms open wide, ready to embrace you my friend.  Just cry out to Him and then find someone who knows the Truth, to come along side of you and be of help, as brothers & sisters in Christ should.  Then, try to get a Bible if you don’t have one, and get plugged into His Truth.  Pray, and He will lead you to where you are supposed to be.  Don’t be afraid to step into new territory, He made us for this journey – TOGETHER – TODAY.  We lock arms and hearts and run this race together – we are KNIT TOGETHER with LOVE.  Love is God Himself, God is love.

  1. What a great read…….I found these words resonated with me today. “Pray, and He will lead you to where you are supposed to be. Don’t be afraid to step into new territory, He made us for this journey – TOGETHER – TODAY. We lock arms and hearts and run this race together – we are KNIT TOGETHER with LOVE. Love is God Himself, God is love.”
    Thanks for sharing from your heart…Renee at

  2. No ma’am you are surely not alone in your writing struggle! Some days the words flow like water, other days I’m wrestling them out. I don’t have little ones… just a 19 year old but I can feel that same spatial intrusion when I hear him readying to come out of his room in the morning when I’m smack dab in the middle of my quiet time loving on Jesus… What an appropriate setting to put into practice all the love lessons he has for us. Do your thing girl, we’re with you ♥

    1. Heather – I so appreciate your words. It means a lot to know there are others who understand where I am coming from. It inspires me to keep pressing on in the midst of those struggles and also to pray for others like yourself! God bless 🙂
